Straight to the Heart.A Poem by G. AndersonMy family. The frosted dawn,
my tears, it brings; my mourning soul, and memories that sting. Red and orange, almost spill, across the fields, where songbirds trill. Oh my dearest, caring father, I'd sing my grief, but why bother!? My nose is red, my heart turns blue. I catch my breath, while thinking of you. I loved you then, I love you still. Come back to me, I've fallen ill... The coldness bites, the solitude thunders. I need you here, I'm falling under. So I watch the sky, with nothing to lose. I feel lost at sea, and still I refuse. I won't let you go, I won't give up. My heart hangs on to nothing corrupt. You've learned your lesson, but what lesson was learned? That things can be taken, your pride, and the earned!? But don't underestimate, because we're torn apart; this journey strengthens us, straight to the heart. - My father was with me on December 31st, 2008, and then was ripped away from me January 1st, 2009. Many blame him for the destruction of my family, when quite frankly, everyone can share the blame. Even I did not fight for it when it was to be fought for. - I dedicate this to Larence Lee Askins, my only father © 2010 G. AndersonFeatured Review
