Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by G. Anderson

You think you sleep,
but you really daydream;
but you sleep in day,
so you nightdream.

The pitter-patter of
barren feet sleepwalking;
but you sleep in day,
so you're daywalking.

Up is down
but where are you?

You're mindless.

Your eyelids close,
but your eyes, they move.
Your body lies down,
but your nerves refuse.

And you're never really
sleeping, but you're never
really awake.

Things haunt you from
past and subconscience,
and since you're drifting
between consciousness,
you just can't escape.

You slip away,
into another reality.
Where you drag your feet,
and never sleep.

So it's Insomnia
