Love's Limits

Love's Limits

A Poem by G. Anderson

My soul I'll sell
to release you from Hell
that's what I'd do for you
if you'd only hold me dear...
It's not what you'd like to hear,
but that's what I'll do.

I'd cut your bonds with anger,
of fear of your relinquishing...
So now no angels sing,
as my hopes are pulverized in languor.

My heart I'll strain, just
to hear your love's refrain...
That's what I'd do for you,
if you only loved me back...
It's the dilemma of the lack,
but together we'll make it through.

I'd sing with pride and joy, for
the meeting of us twain..
So now you see that you're my main,
my love remains,
eternally loyal.

For this love has limits,
but not for me.
I love you deeply,
And yet you won't admit.
