Is It Better in Color?

Is It Better in Color?

A Poem by G. Anderson

From the child's scraped
          knee,
to the wide, torrential
          sea,
Is it better in color?

          Like
the ruby-red polish on
    death's fingertips,
          Or
the bandaged elbow,
when the little girl slips,
Is it better in color?

          Like
the grave tear, rolling down
    the widow's pallor face,
and the last appreciative tear,
    falling from its rightful
          Place,

Is it better in color?

Is anything better in color?
