I Wish

I Wish

A Poem by G. Anderson

I wish to draw across your face
with the warmth of my fingertips.
    Feeling every defined curve
of beauty and character.

I wish to scribble playful hearts
onto my papers with smiles while
    thinking of your laughter,
of the very beat of your fragile little heart.

I wish to run my hands over you,
soaking up your fears and trembles,
    leaving behind the warmth
and mirth that this world has stolen.

    And I wish.

To hold you one more night,
to count your breaths and content
sighs- to give you the sweet
dreams your Mother wishes but does not give.
To kiss you sweetly, and feel
you smile against me.

    I wish

to see you happy again.
To kiss away the scars on your wrists
and wipe away the smudges of anger written
onto your wondrous, delicate face I love so much.

My Desolate Stargazer,
I wish to love you.
