Land Of New BeginningsA Poem by G. AndersonThis blessing, seldom handed out. It's a gift, not introduced or known to this wretched world. It's a beginning. For the endings are more than far and few between. But I'm venturing a world Inside of a world, And reality outside of reality. Where promises are kept, Love is cherished, And I am held again. I met you. I loved you. I still love you. And while I may not have you in this world, I have vowed to have you in one world or the next. So here I am. In the Land of New Beginnings, Just outside of sanity, Waiting to prosper with you. The grass kneads between our toes, The songbirds trill with warmth and bliss. This chemistry between us, no one knows, For it's hidden in the Land of New Beginnings. I am in your world physically, A ghost of a person. Speaking. Nodding. And only when provoked. Because my heart and happiness lay elsewhere, My mentality in the Loving Land. They're dead. They've moved on to the Land of New Beginnings. If I died to you tomorrow, Would you come to me today? Would you lay under the stars, And laugh and point, And warm me with your breath? If I told you that you were my everything, Could we sink into the sand, And watch an ocher sunset disappear? For one, I know my emotionally-detached heart still beats on Earth. And your body and mind still thrive obliviously. So for a New Beginning to take place, In that sacred world where my love awaits, I must end this life. And wait for you on the other side. On the other side of this horrible world, Standing in a curtain of mirth, Eager to live with you In the Land of New Beginnings. © 2010 G. Anderson |
