What Can You Do?A Poem by G. AndersonA poem I wrote shortly after I was ripped in two by the person who promised me everything. Guess the people you love hurt you the most. When broken bones, They heal no more- And your soul is tattered, Rugged and sore... Heart is shattered, Beyond repair- Dreams are trampled, In despair...
What can you do?
When love is smattered, Across the ground- And love's refrain, a Desolate sound... Your spirit ripped, scattered And pried- And all you do, Is sit and cry...
What can you do?
When open wounds, Ooze with pus- And a steady ache, Becomes a must... Your chest's mortar, Dissolves with sorrow- And the bricks Are slowly swallowed...
What can you do?
When ashen hate, in Tear-ducts gather- And bitterly you think, The end you'd rather...
You can't get another try. You curl into a corner and cry. Inside your heart, something has died. ~Gage's Broken Heart © 2010 G. AndersonFeatured Review
