To Not HurtA Poem by G. AndersonA f*****g promise is nothing anymore....She felt the spirits of the wind, Her chest full and content, She'd lived only for him; And on she went. A meaningful, unbroken promise, She made with smile and heart. But for heart and smile, she'll reminisce, In this agonizing art. The stupid law always broken. A promise to cherish- TO NOT HURT- To savor the beautiful token, Anger, revert. Hand in hand, face to face, She swore to only live for him, Their hearts together, rightfully placed, Her heart he wins. And so she lived and loved, Only to make him happy. Until he broke her heart, he did, He set her "FREE." Her passion faded away, Dimming to a dull roar. She lived only for him, but not today, Her soul bruised and sore. He's not there anymore. He just up and walked away, So she's nothing to live for, No purposeful words to say. Her heart beats, But the emotion is dead. Her painful demise, she meets, For he can't retrieve what he said. She's kept her promise, But to naught but meaningless words. Nothing to her grief, will suffice, Every moment of thought hurts. © 2010 G. AndersonAuthor's Note
