Love's Refrain.

Love's Refrain.

A Poem by G. Anderson
"

I walk the hidden trails of Hell, and sing the unwritten words of pain. My peace and mind I'll sell, Just to hear your love's refrain.

"
*********************************
I walk the hidden
trails of Hell,
and sing the unwritten
words of pain.
My peace and mind
I'll sell,
Just to hear your
love's refrain.

Sadly, it's long gone
from us,
the tiny flame is
extinguished.
This grief gets harder
to hush,
for my fate has been
established.

You're slipped between
my fingers,
floating away on tendrils
of smoke.
On the sill of my heart your
love lingers,
along with the life and
false hope.

Your letters I've
forgotten,
tears have long since
dried.
This festering hate
lies rotten,
since the day your love
died.

I can try and try with all
 my might...
And still fail in the
end.
I can't retrieve our warming
light,
your murder and indifference
rends.

So walk away like the
others,
and don't give me a second
glance.
Just hold high your
shoulders,
and join your love in Death's
Dance.

This cleft shall break me
in two,
but I'll be fine I
suppose.
As long as I've loved
you,
I will continue to live
and grow.

For now I trod and wear
the grass,
even though I'd rather
fade.
I guess I'm stuck in this
black mass,
flailing and drowning in what
I've made.

It is really driven by the emotion, one to be read aloud over again just for its strength. Love that never dies, at least to those who care to keep it in our hearts

Thanks to you guys.
I just have my moods and personalities that drown, and this is what is created.
