Carolina Selkie

Carolina Selkie

A Poem by CoyoteClock14
"

Cadet of mine named Melissa on Snapchat has been marking me with her subtle Gun Powder. She said something to me a few days ago and it was something that I was waiting for someone to say, eventually.

"
Clean Serpent of the Aquamarine
Skin and coat covers the heart light from within
The dance of magenta fog above her shore forms alluring ambiguity
When the silhouette siren snatched me with its teeth
The mysterious Carolina Selkie was there
to make the coyote trap dissolve away
The majesty was from all the way back in the morning
But the ocean jaspers became more of a loving kingdom
as time went on

I read this several times because it was very intriguing. I concluded the underlying meaning from this piece was that when we face challenges in life, we often find ourselves in a much better place. I did have to look up "selkie" because I didn't know what that was and now I've learned something new today. Thank you for sharing your writing.
