For a friend..

I don't know you well..

You read my work and I read yours,
But that is all.

I think we're friends,
I do hope so.

But you're concealed,
Simply not an open book.

Yesterday I thought I understood,
But today you've surprised me again.

You're wise and caring,
Yet gloomy and quiet.

You hide words behind words,
And it's all just so confusing.

But I promise I'll be better,
I'll work even harder.

But most of all..

I'll try to figure you out

that friend of yours must be a mysterious guy, Cool Girl. I imagine he still lingers in between the short lines of this poem. it gets confusing sometimes when we can't be sure to whom we're actually talking to. that gives a funny yet thrilling sensation. good one, Cool Girl, good one :)

no problem :) I am no expert writer myself, but if I can give a little advice maybe you want to find some unique words that can help channel your thoughts and emotions into your writing so that your poems become richer. but, still don't force it and always be genuine about your feelings.

This is beautiful C.G. :) I believe this is so true with so many of us on here. Even when we give out our writing (one of our most intimate things) and talk, we still hide. Great way of illustrating that. I wonder who this was for?

Did I hear someone mention my name below? :) Cool Girl, do we ever really know one another. Sometimes the not knowing adds to the intrigue and makes the mystery so much more fun. My suggestion is, don't work harder, just go along...you'll find things that paint a much clearer picture before too long. Some people do conceal themselves and some are right out front waving..."Look at me". We are all different. But don't worry, I'm sure your friend will reveal themselves eventually. Your poem was wonderful and your message came across loud and clear my friend.
