To my older brother, Danny..

Even if we drift apart,
I have been here right from the start.
And I will never go away,
I will try to ease your pain.
And even if tears stream my face,
Know that I'll not end my days
For you are here to make me say,
"This is hard, but that's okay."

And if tears were to come to you
I would wipe them to make things anew.
And if the others laughed or teased,
I would smile and be pleased
For I am not ashamed of you
And I don't mind what others do.

You are my family for ever and ever,
Even if we will meet never.
Just reach across with your soul and heart,
And I will swear that our hearts will not part.

My brother, you are everything to me.
So I come before you on my knees
To tell you that you are worth more than gold
And that to me, you will never grow old.

I need you because you are wise,
You are my North Star and my guide.

Please stay strong and say that you'll always be true.
Danny, you are much more to me than you ever knew.

Your poem is very touching to read. Having someone there for you especially in times of need or doubt calms the mind and soothes the heart. Needles to say you are lucky to have him a a brother and he is also lucky to have you as a sister.
