You Broke Her Heart

Well, this is crappy XD

My love, this poem I write to you,
Though this poem is not a love poem.

I know you, my love, to be kind and sincere.
I know you to be someone caring and near.

And yet with every careful word
And with your perfect tone,
You broke her heart.

My love, I know it had to be.
But why does this sadden me?

I do not understand.

I suppose I simply am
Too familiar with being broken.

And so it pains me
To see her this way, too.
