Escape Artist

Can I not escape?
Isn't life just another cage?
The chains aren't too hard to break,
For life is just another stage.

Shackle down my heart and mind.
Then, sink me in the ocean deep.
An escape I seek, and I shall find,
Inhaling in, I breathe.

Tie my dreams behind me.
Then, throw me from on high.
I'll escape and you'll see;
I made sure the noose was tight.
