Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by Al R. Arce
"

Need I say anything else?

"
I'm wide awake, when I should be asleep.
The TV is on with nothing to see.
Got my tablet on, but I don't want to read.
Got my dogs, they just want to sleep.
My wife? She is on her own dreams...
The midnight snack has been taken...
With Hypnos I can't make my peace.
No gaming, no surfing, I'm just awake
I keep watching all around me
Hoping I see something like me
With nothing else to do but to fall asleep.
Too late for a pill, too late to save the night.
Bored to death, but not enough to sleep.
Tomorrow's plans all doomed to fail
Only a poem with no reason to be
No muse, no message to read
No beauty, no cadence
Just words begging for an end
I just want to fall asleep!

Not a masterpiece. And I didn't fall asleep. Just got tired and tried to do something else!
