Surprised visitor

Darkness comes unannounced in my bedroom

Loves to visit when I’m alone

Fear thrives when Courage and Optimism have left for vacation

Doubts attack violently without a second thought

I’m trapped inside these four walls

They laugh and whisper when no one is around

In search for escape I look anywhere to go

But my own thoughts come back

Leaving no room but to face them head on

I scream at the person in the mirror

Why won’t it leave me alone!

Why is it laughing at my insecurities?

I think of ending her but then I realize that she is me

Hope that Tomorrow shows up soon

Darkness has stayed with me far too long
