SteadfastA Poem by CrozbyI awoke to sounds of battle, down the hall. Screams of pain echoing, I could tell you fought brilliantly. You, my valiant knight. Me, your devout devotee. You said He was a traitor, we rallied to the call. The babe in your arms, we fled the castle. The dragon gave chase, but we were the quicker. The treasures were ours to reap: Lawry’s, Saltines and cable tv. You look uncomfortable, in your armor. You never asked for this honor. You notice me and return, steadfast, to your post. © 2019 CrozbyReviews
