Walking by the seas edge

Incoming tide lapping at our feet

Each tide closer

 

Jump to dodge the waves

As the lap ever closer

Ever higher

 

Watch the swell out in the deep

Dwindling as the close in

One foot

 

Six inches

On the sands

With a swish sh sh

 

As the land

Tumbling pebbles

Cickety click

 

Receding wave

Back down the sand

To join the swell

 

Sh Sh Sh

Clickety Click

Wave and pebbles

 

Each wave pushing us higher

Away from the sea

Closer to the land

 

Go back

You land people

Where you belong

I pondered over how to covey the sounds of waves flowing up the beach
How to covey the sounds in written words
THEN the pebbles rolling over each other

:) i am definitely a land lubber matey ... but i have had special moments on the shores .. moments that have vivid feelings and scenes attached .. and deep peace when turmoil was ruining my soul .. your sound effects are the triggers .. thanks for bringing this poem to the Cafe' .. and conjuring some precious memories for me

No we aren't sailors except for going to Europe for hols on a ferry
The sounds I had to ponder over to get words to convey pebbles tumbled by the waves
Pleased it revived memories for you

Tide dodging Girls squealing as they get caught
I attempted to write words for the rolling b pebbles and receding waters

Oh before you ask No we were not affected by yesterdays floods > Last week we came through that area

Thank you Coyote > Yes always something to see by the shore
We had to swap campers The old one (2 years old) and sprung water leak & is going to take six months to repair
We had a week in it last week > now some bits to sort - like boats always work to do
Medical appointments for 2 weeks
Then we can go off >> Season ends in November
