Smart, Rich or Beautiful?A Stage Play by Dylan MacadhamA MINI-PLAY: 3 ACTS in 12 LINESMonday ~ Lunchtime ~The HappyBean Jack: “Would
you rather be smart, rich or beautiful?” Jill winks. “I’ve got all three pretty well covered, thanks.” Jack nods in agreement. “Let me rephrase. Which two would you give up if you had to?” Jill: “ … If
I had too? That’s a tough one.” . . . Jack: “Okay,
start by eliminating just one.” Jill: “Rich. If I’m smart, which I am, I can always get my net worth back.” Jack: “Well-said,
pal. Which one goes next?” Jill frowns.
“ … Damn. If I say smart, I can’t be rich again.” . . . Jack: “So,
you’d give up beautiful, huh?” Jill purses her lips. “No, smart. My looks are too integral to my
identity.” Jack smirks. “Just what I figured.” Jill hikes an eyebrow. “Alright
smarty-pants, which one of your two would you give up?” ___________________________ © 2021 Dylan MacadhamAuthor's Note
