Druthers

Druthers

A Poem by Dylan Macadham
"

A Verse in 8 Lines

"

Living is largely

performance art,

the way we present

ourselves to others.

It's our social obligation,

a contract of sorts,

not to behave as if

we had our druthers.

This may be true for some, but I detest when writers egotistically declare ANYTHING to be "how it is" with ALL people. It's lazy to generalize & it feels like you're fawning for agreement from your readers. You need to check your ego at the door & observe ALL of life, ALL different kinds of people, not just what's rambling around inside your head (((HUGS)))
