Naked Rhyming

A Verse in 12 Lines

I sit at my keyboard,

because I can't sleep,

which generally leads,

to my words in a heap.

.   .   .

Yet once in a while,

insomnia’s a blessing,

freeing up my mind,

much like undressing.

.   .   .

Now we’re all clicking,

my shiny keys and me,

phrasing and rhyming,

as I sit naked as can be.

Well I understand insomnia. It is wretched. It certainly doesn't bring much inspiration, more like frustration. If insomnia works for you and frees up your mind to write and rhyme, you are a lucky geezer. There is a chill in the air now the season has changed. If you are sitting naked, you are braver than me. I find there's a kind of clarity in a foggy brain. Being too tired to overthink sometimes spares me word-tangles that stink.
There it is again ... "geezer," which rhymes with teaser, which I suspect you might be, just like me :)

PS: I feel I must confess that sitting naked was poetic license, shivering does little to free me.

I've always had a problem falling asleep, going back into high school. I'm usually wide awake till one or two in the morning, then my butt is dragging when I have to rise and shine. Thank God for coffee! ; )

Being naked at the computer may well be a summer vocation, but I wouldn't suggest it while frying bacon, my friend! ; )

I used to drink Maxwell House when I lived at home. I remember those school mornings - nothing for breakfast but coffee. Peanut butter & banana is my favorite sandwich. It's great on toast too, cause it melts a little. It's gotta be Jif, though!
