Wishing for a Visitor

Wishing for a Visitor

A Poem by Sarah Jane

White walls and fine smiles
A place of peace of mind

Drip, drip, like dry tears
Falling through weak veins

Beep, beep, the beating heart
Lonely and cold without blankets

the nurses, they know my fate
Still they bring me laughter and food

Patter, patter, the rain falls
Even God seems to cry out

Tick, tick, the clock screams
Awaiting my own to halt
