Nicotine

Nicotine

A Poem by Sarah Jane
"

Inspired by a few words of a friend

"
A billow of smoke explodes in my throat
An inhale of fears and tomorrows
The white toxins pervade my lungs
An exhale of serenity and repose

For a moment the ashes of anxiety
Flicked out a cracked window fall
Fire on the tips of my fingers
Skills in the depths of my lungs

Why are cigarettes addicting?
Surely it's not the nicotine.
