Evangeline

Evangeline

A Poem by Sarah Jane

Muted dancing of crows
I count three just down below
Circling my hearts remains
Treading through my crimson stains
Monarch! Monarch!
A lady bugs last breath
Unheard in all this silence
Snuffed out with shy smiles
My my, where's my voice?
How dare I surrender
Inflamed may touch timid
But only secrets touch me

I am Evangeline
Despite the crows devouring
My heart is all but harrowing
When he gleams at me

Light whispers of dusk
What love do you know?
