Illusions

Illusions

A Poem by Sarah Jane

The sun and the stars
Mark a new dawn
Another day
Otherwise, we keep the time
We set the routine
We are what weve seen
But is it really us?
Setting the hours
Or sonething darker
The ultimate power

Shovel in the illusions
Cover up the contusions
A bloody virus we call bliss
But its all the same
Little fences to to cage us
And little freedom to feel us
"Its okay, youre all fine.
Now sign over your lives.
This is normal, youre depressed.
Just live how we address."

Climb up and look way down
Youll see all our streets
Becoming a maze for mice
Constantly buzzing
And all the time running
To catch tthe American dream

What happened to nature
And time to be peaceful,
Because all I can hear is
Tick tock, tick tock.
