POIGNANT STONE

POIGNANT STONE

A Poem by Takaichi Tanaka
"

Remebmering a departed daughter.

"
Here, this poignant stone lurks;
An epitaph that signifies
The now crushed down
Once mighty vanity of ours.

In the intervening time yet;
Briskly looming is our own demise
That renders often, the fear-provoking
Deliberation - that vain dread in us the living.

Ironically, still, denotes the poignant stone here;
The tranquility of the crypt  - pitch black and quiet
Such a remarkable serenity, yet the scalawags' flight:
Who in time flee from their own derisive mirth.

This poignant stone, therefore;
Is all that it doesn't say it is what it is:
"It is well with my soul"
So, until then
This stone is every living's solace.
