THE LAST SIPA Poem by Takaichi TanakaIn the poem, the persona celebrates an academic achievement. At last, here trails the very last sip Wits into an evoke; the ending edifying stuff gets seep’ Mouthful of shrewdness coming before persistence Much like acumen heralds avid praxis This taming gurgle on the nerve, from a well deserved toil; Finally drudges the crestfallen swank to a foil.
During the outset, when it all begun Unforeseeing was a soul it could be done However, committed to loiter was the solitary time to tell While fortitude at last fruited bullion to avert a dejected fail And startlingly, the hasty to stay in was the resolve to achieve; Much like endurance was quick to charge at those who dared disbelieve.
No wonder, here finally the last sip comes Thrumming like daybreak beating of the customary drams A sturdy thud that sends swarms of finches fleeing in directions; A lot like tyranny begets exile by plain tutored declarations. Hence, as the sip gets sucked out from the goblet of the edifying stuff I do so with much pride and least tint of bluff. © 2024 Takaichi Tanaka |
