Like YouA Poem by Poetic InjusticeWelp .... NamasteShe don't look like you Her lips don't taste like you My arms around her waist don't feel right, like you
She offered me her bed (pause) And I went home instead
Why did I even try? Can't bring myself to lie It's not fair to use another ... to forget you and I
Don't wanna hurt someone (pause) Over coming undone
No she's not like you What's a man like me to do?
She didn't make me feel The way you make me feel Good or bad ... it was a misdeal
Not even a pair (pause) It just wasn't there
My thoughts were still on you The things we used to do And the way you made it plain that nothing I could do
Would ever win your heart (pause) Destined to drift apart
No she's not like you What's a man like me to do? ~~~~~ (break) ~~~~~ I wanted more ... of ... you Than you were willing ... to give I made myself ... a fool And though it hurts like hell, I guess tonight I'll live ~~~~~ (break) ~~~~~ So on those nights I try To believe a lie That somewhere out there someone like you will catch my eye
But with you in my brain (pause) It's just all in vain
Guess long as I use you To measure her up to I'll never learn to find a love that's really true
Guess that's what's broken (pause) No truer words spoken
No she's not like you What's a man like me to do? (x2) © 2009 Poetic InjusticeReviews
