NewsA Poem by Daisy SavageA poem I am considering entering for a competition on the topic of 'news'.
Words of black and white sharing the horrors,
Carrying the news forgotten tomorrow. Shocking scenes of death and murder, Rag-dressed child wishes we'd heard her. Watching the pain of a war-torn country, Turn a blind eye when it starts to get ugly. Mandela is dead, the people's king, Clips on the telly show the mourners sing. Birth of a Prince, death of a child, Pop-star arrested; the world's gone wild. Hearing the news in a state of depression, Worldwide and UK in constant repression. The question arises on the readers' lips: 'When will there be some happiness?'
