Knowledge?

Knowledge?

A Poem by Dak

maybe we aren't ever really supposed to know ourselves, maybe we'll continue to learn more of ourselves as time goes on and we experience different situations and feats. i think that anyone who thinks they know themselves or know what they truly want is a bit close minded in the regards that there is a plethora of experiences we've never even come close to touching. so how can you know yourself and know what you want when you only know so little of the world and what it has to offer. myself included. sometimes i feel as though i know what i want, but then i look at the bigger picture. My knowledge is minuscule and we live in a gargantuan universe. i rest easy at night knowing that i'll never fully know myself. thats a great thing.

My grandfather had a good saying. "Be a man of many skills. Never a expert of one. Better to be able to understand many things than only one." Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

We all know ourselves to some degree or another but, if we allow ourselves, we constantly keep learning about ourselves as well. More than anything, we need to be self-aware. Understanding our own thoughts and feelings. As we change over time, we learn more about ourselves. I think that's the wonderful thing about being human, we're always changing and growing.

Very compelling thoughts. I have to say that I don't completely agree with you. But that's a good thing I suppose. It means that your piece made me think about knowing oneself. I believe that as we go through life, we grow to know ourselves more and more. Eventually, I think that we are able to predict what we will do in certain situations regardless of whether we have ever encountered them. That is just my opinion. Great thoughts though!
