Just Bend-Over

Just Bend-Over

A Poem by Dale Pavolko

Just Bend to the Trend (2025 Remix)
A Poem by Dale Pavolko (still not sorry)

the moon was feeling mean
misgendered.
by the big bad wolf
she had a panic attack
in the wrong bathroom.
the sky could not take the glare
posted content warnings everywhere.
there was thunder in the air
(but it was mostly performative.)

god wrote
(they/them/- us-(unceded cosmos))
in a ring around the sun
convened an emergency DEI retreat
three days of sharing circles
a mandatory trauma disclosure
built unanimous consensus and

posted a decree on X

henceforth there shall be
electric guitars in every muted safe space!
all-night voodoo bars
using only(ethically sourced),
potions and a gluten-free label,
the whipping post is a hugging station.
all trans vampires have an autopen
pardon.

supernatural
it’s queerly preternatural,
put it on tiktok,
make it go viral,
monetize the hex.

now twilight descends upon all
with a land acknowledgment treaty
tagged on the strip-mall wall,
the walking dead stumble up to call
with-pronoun pins and stitched-up mauls

It’s time to pave the world,
put Starbucks in space,
fly a pride flag over every sweatshop
even in Karachi,
call ac/dc
(they’re doing acoustic sets to obtain
carbon waivers in hell)
and throw the biggest corporate brunch
that the ghost of epstein ever saw
it’s the trend, baby.
just bend over for it.
even the devil’s got a verified account.

Of course, the title drew me in...
I kinda get the entire write but I can't put it into words.
I see life as we know it in the entirety.
You are quite the poet to provide such truth wrapped in cryptic.
The final stanza made me laugh!
What a beauty!
