Crime and Pleasure

Crime and Pleasure

A Poem by Dale Pavolko

I live a life of leisure~~
damn near a crime:
I take the money
and leave not one dime.

I live a life of pleasure,
kiss Chantelle, kiss mystique,
sweep every beauty
clean off her feet.

If I marry one,
I’ll marry them all~~
we’ll live in a country house
with an enormous dinner hall.

Candelabras blazing,
wine that never ends,
laughter down the table
as the night descends.

No single ring will bind me,
no single vow confine~~
I’ll keep the sky for lovers
and every star for mine.
