The ceremony

The ceremony

A Poem by Matthew Daalling
"

This is a piece I called the ceremony. It's about a love shared between two people and how affecting that love can be. I hope you enjoy it.

"
Their days together had a gravity emanating from them, and it had replaced the rhythm that had been interrupted so long ago; now the old memories were less than the constriction of a single throat muscle. She was with him again, a heartbeat unbroken, where time subsided into Dawn, and the sunset gave way to the Stars, Wheeling across the night. The breaking and crushing were gone, and the love pushed inside his chest, and when he cried now, it was because she loved him so much.

Dear Mathew
In This piece it seems the love grows stronger. especially physically...separated I believe for sometime now the love is different and more entwined...they become one with nature....the old memories fade....
Warmly, B

This is definitely relatable. It's strange how powerful love can be. I liked how it was used in this writing, making it clear that love affects the body as well: "less than the constriction of a single throat muscle." and the using Dawn and the Stars, (Is there a reason why these start with a upper case?) its making the nature involved in this love too. They all feel this, know this. Making the pain more exist.
Thank you for sharing.
