Shelter part 3

Shelter part 3

A Poem by Matthew Daalling
"

This is a continuation of a poem I've been working on for a while called The shelter. Or just shelter. I hope you enjoy it let me know what you think and give me some feedback thanks so much love Mat.

"
How'd I get from sunset Park to a shelter in the Bronx.
Living life quite lavish now I stagger in the dark.
It's a draft God damn it now they send me to the war.
From ivy league major to a penny for your thoughts.

What about a nickel
What about a quarter
What about a dime God damn it
What's in order?

Cuz my mind is filled to the gills like 100 Mil. Blind to the b******* still, I'm from Gunner hill. Run me up a bill. I feel that the sun is still. Still.
