Beauty Lies Within

Beauty should be true to you.

"Beauty is in the heart of the beholder"
no newspaper,
fashion magazine,
or person can tell you that you're not beautiful
because beauty lies within
people can say a certain
body type is beautiful,
but as long as you love yourself
you shouldn't care about
other people's perception of beauty
as long as you believe
that everything about you is beautiful
because beauty lies within

Instead of a song to inspire me I used a quote by Al Bernstein. A lot of you enjoyed a line of my favorite songs, so maybe you'll enjoy some of my favorite quotes. Enjoy.

I liked this poem. I agree with you. "The beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", but not everyone can see that. I think that if they were able to see it then they would feel beautiful. Mostly beauty is in the heart. It doesn't matter what you look like. I loved this poem. Thanks for sharing?

Wonderful and totally true. "beauty lies within" is a great uplifter when someone might feel down about themselves. It's hard to except yourself for who you are but people need to realize that beauty comes in many many many forms :)

I enjoyed this poem in terms of the content, found it a little ironic that the line "you shouldn't care about other people's perception of beauty" would come from an aspiring fashion designer/journalist. Otherwise, good work.
