Why?

Why?

A Poem by Randall

                                                       Why?

I hope you cry each night before you fall asleep. For what you did to me. I hope you ask yourself why you are crying? That you search your heart for the answer, not finding it. Then one night you find the answer and realize what you did to me. The answer is you could have just told me you no longer wanted to be my friend. But you chose to be Indifferent to me. Taking my heart from my chest, laying waste to it.  Why?  I hope you cry each night before you fall asleep.

There’s a gentle ache in this piece. a kind of hurt that lingers not because love ended, but because silence took its place. The repetition gives the feeling of a wound touched lightly, still tender, still unanswered.

Thanks, Curly Grace. It is a sister poem to The Betrayal poem.
