Her Name,

Her Name,

A Story by Randall
"

This may turn into a longer short story!

"
Her Name,

God... I saw her in my dream last night.
She was running though my field picking wildflowers, and dancing about.
She was laughing and singing... being life.
I've never seen anyone so wonderful..., so beautiful.
I knew I loved her..., but she was only in my dream.
I woke to this life..., promising to return to her.
The day was long..., filled with nothing but hope for the night.
I made it through..., locked my door..., put my head down.
She came to me..., like the sun rising... I called to her.
She danced around me..., taunting me..., with her laughter.
Promising things only found in dreams.
I said, promises are meant to be kept..., don't make them unless..., you mean to keep them.
She said..., I'll always keep my promises if you return.
I knew the line where reality started and stopped. But I moved the line into the dream.
I returned in the morning to reality. But wanting all day to go back to her.

I returned to her again..., and again..., night after night.
Each time moving the line of reality further into the dream.
Realizing each time..., it was getting harder to return.
The trip back, being longer..., more exhausting each time I returned.
I had to figure a way to move her into my reality or myself further into her dream.
I asked her if she would come into my reality. She said. "I only live in your dreams."
So, I went further into her dream. She said. Please stop or you will have to stay in my dream."
I thought at that point..., I didn't care about my reality.
Only her and the dream she held for me.

Reality is for those who don't want to live... Dreams are for the living.
She said. No, you have it wrong... You must have dreams to live in reality.
You just can't live in your dreams only.
But I love you... How can I live in my reality without you?
I'm out there somewhere... You just haven't found me, keep looking don't give up.
I'll always be here when you need me... You just can't stay.

The phone rang. "Hello."
"Daniel, are you coming into work this morning we really need you for that presentation."
"I guess I'll be in."
"Oh, I almost forgot. That girl you saw getting on the elevator the other day."
"You know, the one you said was your dream girl. Well, I saw her today. I jumped on the elevator with her, she went to the 23rd floor and went to the Law office of Alexander and William."
"Did you get her name?"
"Yes."
"Well, what is it?"
"I had to ask at the main desk. They gave me her first name Estelle."
"No last name?"
"No, the girl that I asked wouldn't give it to me, she said my reputation precedes me."
"She's right Vince. Don't go near Estelle or I'll kick your a*s."
"Daniel, you wouldn't really kick my a*s?"
"No, I'd kick you in the balls. stay away from Estelle she's my dream girl.
"Boy that's gratitude for you."
"Vince you can be my best man at Estelle and my wedding."
"Are you nuts? You haven't even met her yet."
"Maybe I am, maybe I am not... She told me last night not to give up looking for her."
"You are nuts."
"Vince, would you go down to the florist on the main floor. And ask them to put together a bouquet of flowers, you know the ones that grow wild in the fields, she likes those. I'll pick them up on my way to the 23rd floor."
"Alright Daniel, I'll order the flowers. But I still think your nuts."
"And one more thing Vince. You may have saved my life.

Life can happen just like that - given the chance! There's a wonderful mystery here - an unfinished tale, a beautiful collection of words - thank you for sharing them.
