I Knew

I Knew

A Poem by Randall

I knew I had to have you the first time I saw you.
Even if it meant my demise.
I'm caught in your web unable to move, not wanting too.
I surrender, have your fill.

Your poem moves like a quiet pulse,
a feeling that rises slowly
and settles with the lightest touch.

There’s a tenderness in your surrender-
so gentle it feels almost weightless,
as if the heart simply opened
without needing to be asked.

These lines drift through me
like a soft exhale,
leaving only a trace of warmth
where the ache used to be.
