First unwanted kiss.

First unwanted kiss.

A Story by Randall

Speaking of curly hair girls. We were, weren't we? Anyway, when I was five or six, we were at Camp meeting and this curly haired girl about the same age as me. Came up and kissed me right on the lips.

Of course, I, being of sound mind at the age of five or six years old. Pushed her away rejecting her kiss. Thus, I did this with great Shakespearian fanfare, wiping my mouth and spitting like I had just been betrayed by a poison kiss. My mother and older sister came running over to help the little curly haired girl up from the ground.

I couldn't understand their attention given to her since I was the one, who had been poisoned. My older sister came over and told me I was over acting. I called her Brutus. She called me Mark Antony, then she cited "I come not to praise Ceasar, but to bury Ceasar. My mother came over and simply said. Randy, you'll be sorry you did that someday. I said. Why? she said, you'll find out.

I must have been pretty dumb at five or six. I think I understand now. So, that's why I believe I now like curly haired girls. I figured out they're not really poisonous.

For my older sister, Roxanne, (Brutus!)
She was always right. I tended towards overacting!

You, overact, I can't see it...she must have been something, Randall.

Thanks for sharing this humorous poem about a kiss....I remember being that age and running away from girls too.....what little did we know back then huh...!?!

This is a neat write and made me chuckle at the "human" recognition here......

This made me smile. At that age, I imagine I would've acted the same. But when a girl kissed me when I was 12...

It's funny how we remember small things. I can see vividly what happened that day. Thanks, Samuel.
The sanctity of ourselves should be ours.
The capacity to forgive, a gift much dearer.
I think you were great.
And now you're greater.

Oh my, what a poem, can't blame you for reacting so but its sad with the ending..
Curly haired girls are interesting and pretty smart to, being one I can tell you that.
Thanks for sharing about your innocent mistake back then.

The six year old might have spat in your direction for poisoning him. Today, he would help you up.
