"Break"

"Break"

A Poem by Randall

You break my heart.
I wait all day.
Just to hear tell... a moment... of your life.
But you rush away... leaving nothing.
A few crumbs perhaps... discarded from your hands.
I bend to pick them up... thinking....
I was once a proud man.

You fight me at every turn.
Ignoring what I have said or written.
Passing over that... which I deemed important.

And yet I stand waiting for your return.
Wishing... hoping... believing.

For what some may say...
will be heart break in the end.

But I listen to only one friend.
My Heart.

Thank you, Thomas. I appreciate your opinion.
Randall...
When the heart chooses, nothing will persuade it otherwise. Touching read, painful even Randall.

I once hoped and wished and believed only to be disappointed each time. Life is funny that way. This is very well written. Oh, I like the song too.

Advice well taken.
Your words rise like a small prayer from the center of the wound...
a heart choosing its own light, even in the dimness.
