There’s such a tender sweetness in this knowing, the way it blooms in the quiet spaces before touch, before sound, before reason. It feels like a gentle truth rising from somewhere sacred, sweet and sure, as if the heart had already chosen and was simply waiting for the moment to unfold. It reads like the heart recognizing someone long before the world offers any proof, a quiet light rising from within, certain and warm, as if the soul whispered yes before anything else had a chance to speak. You capture something so sweet with so few words, Randall. It’s always a pleasure to read your work.

You are a true Poet of the Springtime R, with yr Fabulous Hymns to Romantic Love. Sir John Betjeman himself would be proud of you. Exceptional ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

"Even before I heard your voice." I think that speaks of intuition and knowing what feels right. I do see this as a religious poem and the trust in one's faith when it comes to decisions. Especially if they're life decisions.

I believe I said to Michael Sun Bear,
I know what the poem means to me.
But in this writing, I tried to write it, hoping the reader could put their own interpretation on it.
Thank you for recognizing the choice of words that came to mind.
I hate to come aboard immediately following a luscious AI written review dripping code in its sincerity. You left enough room in your poem to allow wildly varying interpretations depending on what life experiences each reader brings. Most readings seem to be running to a “love at first sight” or “love as destiny” interpretation. For me, the poem speaks of realizing one’s spouse is dying, when two have been together so long that the intuition of gazing into the other’s eyes, when God’s whispers in the night, tell one the truth of approaching death before hearing it from the lover’s own lips, perhaps even before a doctor proclaims.

I know what the poem means to me.
But after looking at it through your written eyes (words). I do believe it can be an expression given to many life experiences. Life and Death often use the same words when love is involved.

Okay, people pan right to left until you reach the two lovebirds as they go into their favorite Pub. Zoom in showing him holding open the door for his love. Hold there, that's it, she stuck her tongue out at him, that's it, catch his smile. Now her hand on his to help hold the door open.
That's fine, follow them into the pub as the door closes, perfect, cut send it to print.
I don't think we even need to edit it, they both knew!
This reads almost like a premonition Randall. Not even love at first sight. A message from your God before you even set eyes on her. That is quite something. Enjoyed the read. Hope you are having a great day.
