Normal is a lie

Normal is a lie

A Poem by Danielle Searby
"

Just a throw away piece of poetry I wrote the other day. Just thought I'd post it.

"

You bite your own lip so you can kiss her.
You breathe in and out so you can collapse.
Withering on the floor.
Walking on the ceiling.
Normal is a lie if you look too long.

Every bodies fidgeting, fingers are swollen.
Eyes of every colour keep on darting.
The room gets smaller and the gloves come off.
Everyone's a mimic.
Everyone's panting.
Normal is a lie if you look too long.

Everybody has a skeleton holding it together.
Skeletons in the closest holding us upright.
Press your uniform, iron out all the line.
Left, right, left, right nothing worse than a decline.
Normal is a lie if you look too long.
