Fall Fills the Air

Fall Fills the Air

A Poem by Daniel Seward
"

Feeling of Fall

"
Fall Fills the Air
After a long prelude
Of fog and rain
Yellow sun
Oceanic aspen
Crisp coolness
After the heady
Intoxication of summer
Thrift
Stockpiling
The psych-up
And after the sleep
Of excess and ease
I feel the imperative
Of fort-building
As I stir ancient
Dank, musty smells

Now in the head-on of winter
I'm finely alive again

Fall fills the air
