Bittersweet Bird SongA Poem by DaniWhere has happiness gone in time of spring? If only I could fly, into that sky. Out a window, off a sky scraper: DIE. In that brief moment, again I could sing! My flight a robin’s on a broken wing! Join the harmonious birds in their cries. Only in that brief moment I could try.
Yet I remain fettered, nothing better? Chained in the recesses of my dark mind; Un-slayed, body and soul not to divide. Like a caged bird, plucked of all my feathers! Lies within the perfectly pressed letters! Insanity spurs a collapse unkind. Death left unearned and my life check unsigned. © 2012 DaniAuthor's Note
