Death kitty

“It’s  SOOO cute!”  I shouted.
The small kitten purred in my lap.
“This is the best present ever! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!”
“I’m glad that you like it.”
My mom sighed with relief. So did all my friends.
It was my seventh birthday when this happened. I was more exhilarated than ever when I got my first pet. Believe me, the excitement wore off.
