Love Cocktail

Love Cocktail

A Poem by Kristen Darian Marie Wiley
"

A song about a now ex... done in a sort of jazz style

"

Just a glass of whiskey or wine,
Any day I'll be feeling just fine,
Every girl's got her problems,
And Lord, you are mine!
Can't always be sweet and nice,
Boy, you're my favorite vice.

You're a sweet talking man,
I'm in the palm of your hand,
Smooth with every look,
In a night I was hooked,
Like Eve's snake at creation,
One irrisistable temptation.

Just bring out the tonic and gin,
Should fight, but I want to give in,
Every girl's got her problems,
And Lord, you're a sin!
I'm in a whole lot'a trouble,
Better make mine a double!

Danced like devils when music would play,
I couldn't even tell the nights from the day,
When I'd let you take the lead,
You then led me astray!
If it's a lie don't cause me no strife,
Keep lyin' sweetly the rest of my life.

Just keep pouring the volka and rum,
Someday I won't be nearly so dumb,
Every girl's got her problems,
And Lord, your the one!
I may be barred from heaven above,
But lord this time I think I'm in love.
