Not bad, how are you?

Going to start posting some personal poetry I think. To get it out of my system to write other things for my next chapbook, and probably because it's best I stop hiding what's going on inside.

I wear the same thing every day,

lies patterned into camouflage

Saying the same things to everyone,

phrases to focus the attention somewhere else,

like "not bad, how are you?". 

Hardly offering anything at all

Hidden and quiet, isolated.

I've got the technique down.

There's only one problem-

I don't know how to quit,

and to quit is all I want

that's ok, its basically about hiding how I really feel to other people because I don't want to get into it (for a variety of reasons). The problem is I do it so regularly that my existence feels like one big secret or lie now. And like the end of the poem states, I would like to be able to quit these lies and be free, but that's hard. I appreciate you coming by to read

I've definitely felt this way before. It does start to feel like a compulsion at some point: to tell people what they want to hear even if it's not true and you don't really want to say it. Good write.

I feel like I basically need to, it's almost threatening to me when people ask me how I am, or what I've been up to, because to answer honestly would be painful for everyone involved lol. I appreciate you coming by to read!
