through the park

with no lights

outside some shops

stopped by two men

hands together in politeness

asking for 75 cents

I really didn't have it

just on a walk fellas

they said something about my pants

as I slipped in ear buds

would have cared once

maybe it was a compliment anyway

A slice of life. Could be anywhere. There are so many now who end up on the streets for a multitude of reasons. I'm sure they would rather not be there. You didn't have any money. I smiled at the ending. You gave them the benefit of the doubt:) Many wouldn't.

On one hand it can be seen as benefit of the doubt, but on the other hand I was also reflecting on my temperament, and how I once may have been quicker to judgement, I now just kinda don't care, water off my back.
