Deep Inside

Take a step back and see what you are, Not a monster you see within

If you took a moment to look deep inside

Beyond those thoughts that keep you awake late at night

You could wipe away all those sorrowful tears you’ve cried

Unlocking the chains wrapped around your heart perilously tight

 

Take a step back and see what you are

Not the monster you see within

Or the pale edge of a scar

But the one always prepared to win

 

You may find you’re the strongest mineral of them all

 Buried in the dark crevices of your soul

It may be hidden by a large wall

I promise one day you will be whole

 

That hungry fire inside is too hot to retire

Strength too intense to break

It’ll never burn out when there’s too much to admire

No matter how much your insides ache

This is very deep and I relate to it so quickly. Your symbolism is very simple, but objective and for that more powerful. The poem reads smoothly but not too smoothly, catching the eye and making it trace down the words and hold onto them. "The hungry fire inside is too hot to retire, strength too intense to break" is haunting as hell. I don't want to ramble, so from here I'll just say woah. This is brilliant, man.

the little doubts we have in our hearts can create big walls that form labyrinth deep inside us. we get lost and fail to see that we've created our own demons and now are slowly devouring us from with in, but the amazing part is, we are our own saving-angels. we can fight those demons away. At least this is what the poem meant to me. amazing work!
