Summary: Set in VD S5 and OUAT S2, but after Cora is gone and Hook has been in town for a while, so starting 2x18 and going through to the S2 finale. Kat appears in the woods after escaping the prison world and Kai. She’s injured from Kai. When Charming runs across her, will she let him help her? What will ensue between them?

A/N: Let’s pretend Snow and Charming aren’t together for this one. Also, I’m bad at him when I’m not going by script, so forgive me if I suck at him in this fanfic.

It was a dismal night, as Katherine Pierce, human and injured, escaped the prison world and Kai, only to appear in some woods she didn’t know. She’d died, which was how she’d ended up in the prison world. It was one that was a prison and made your fears and bad deeds come to life. The creator of it had decided to choose Kai to be her tormentor, along with the mental torment she’d had to deal with.

She put a hand on a tree because of her injuries, trying to stay on her feet, but she wasn’t doing well, Especially, when this place felt like it was in the fall or winter season. She couldn’t help herself much, even with active Traveler magic. She couldn’t even stay on her feet, having lost a lot of blood.

She sat against the tree, since this was all she could do.

Prince Charming was in the woods, as usual, when he saw someone in the distance, against a tree. So, as usual, he decided to investigate. That’s when he realized that she was hurt.

Katherine was still against the tree, injured, when she saw someone approach. Just in case he wasn’t a good person, she made herself ready to get out of there. He must’ve realized that, because he stopped a small distance away from her.

“It’s okay. I’m here to help you, if you’ll let me.”

“Who are you?” she asked him.

“Prince Charming, but some call me David.”

“I’m Katherine Pierce. If you’re Prince Charming, did I end up in a fairytale land?”

“Kind of. Regina wanted to get revenge on Snow, so she created this town, Storybrooke, full of fairytale characters and magic, but she didn’t succeed.”

“Sounds like me. I spent my entire 548 years of being a vampire, wanting my revenge on the werewolf-vampire hybrid, Klaus, after he killed my mother for revenge for me running. He slaughtered my entire village and family, but I was closest to my mother. I didn’t get revenge on him though, and I’m glad. If I had, the vampires I turned would all be dead, and the cure for a werewolf and hybrid bite would be gone forever. Most of all, he never would have had his daughter, Hope. I may have lost Nadia to a hybrid bite to respect her wishes for me not to give anything up to save her, and to just be happy, but I wouldn’t wish anyone else to lose their daughter. Klaus deserves the happiness he gets.” She then added, “You’ve convinced me enough, so let’s get me to the hospital.”

A few hours later, she woke up, having been tended to, and sat up in bed. As she did, he came in, approaching her.

        “You’re awake,” he greeted.

“Thanks. The way I was when I was a vampire, most people from my past, apart from Elijah and Caroline, and maybe Damon, depending on his mood, would’ve just left me for dead. Elijah and Damon are my exes. Caroline is just someone I turned, because she had potential. I was right. I guess you can say that I was a lot like Regina as a vampire, but I’m human now, along with being descended from Travelers, which you’d know as gypsies. I’ve made my Traveler magic active, so I’d fit right into this town of magic. After everything I’ve shared, I’m sure you understand now, why I don’t trust very well, nor get close. People around me either die or leave one way or another.”

After everything she’d told him, he felt sorry for what she’d been through. No one deserved that, and most people in this town had suffered almost the same as she had in the past. He understood completely.

“Well, you can trust me, and if you’re willing, you can start over here. If you need a place to stay, you can stay with me. And you can trust me with anything. I’m not Charming for no reason,” he replied to her.

        She gave a smile.

        “I’d like that. Thanks.”

After a night at Charming’s apartment, she ate at the diner for breakfast, which was when she got an unannounced meeting with Regina. While staying with him, she’d taken the loft bed. She’d also learned everything there was to know.

Regain came up to the stranger in a booth, as the stranger ate.

“Who are you? Why are you here?” she demanded. Regina didn’t like strangers, because they tended to cause trouble in her town.

“From your tone, I’m assuming you’re Regina, formerly the Evil Queen. Don’t worry. I’m not here to cause any trouble. Charming filled me in on everything after he pretty much saved me last night. Usually, I’m not one to share, but though I’m from a world of vampires, werewolves, doppelgangers, ghosts and hybrids, and I used to be a vampire before the cure for vampirism was shoved down my throat, I used to be a lot like the old you. I can’t say how many I killed of nearly every species when I was a vampire, since I lost count many years ago. I loved being a vampire though, apart from having to run from the Original werewolf-vampire hybrid Klaus, and no matter how many I killed, I never harmed any child. When I was human the first time around, having an illegitimate daughter out of wedlock when you follow your heart instead of the rules of that time, wasn’t allowed. My father did what he thought was best, trying to protect the family name, when he took her away. Even as a vampire, I couldn’t find her, but a while after the cure got shoved down my throat, she found me, and we reconnected. In my world, a werewolf bite is deadly to a vampire within twenty-four hours. Klaus’ blood is the only cure. When she was bitten, she didn’t want me to have to give anything up to save her, so I did what she wanted. After that, I too died. I died of old age, but also died from the Traveler knife. Being descended from Travelers, which you’d know as gypsies, I was able to live just a little longer by making myself a passenger inside my doppelganger. When everyone found out, they did what they thought was best, in order to save their precious Elena. I had nothing left after Nadia, so I let it happen. Then I ended up in another sort of dimension called a prison world, which was why when I escaped it last night, Charming had to save me by getting me to the hospital. I’ve done a lot of horrible things, but everyone has a story to tell. Most of us just don’t get to tell our side, because everyone thinks we’re, as fairytale terms would go, the villain. And I understand why you created this town. Klaus was my enemy for 500 years. He slaughtered my village and family, though I only had a connection with my mother, so I wanted revenge on him. I wanted to kill him, but I knew I’d lose Elijah, Klaus’ eldest brother, if I killed him. Plus, once I found out that killing him would mean everyone I turned dying because of being in his bloodline, I made sure that it would be stopped. I’ve done unspeakable things, but I couldn’t live with myself if I let Damon, Caroline, and Stefan die. I loved Damon the most once, as he did with me, though Stefan also loved me, and though they hate me for thinking that I played with their feelings, I don’t hate them. And Caroline may talk your ear off, but she’s enjoyable. Besides, she’s the reason Klaus finally got his humanity back. She taught him how to love again without being afraid of getting hurt. I think I’ve said all I need to, but if anyone needs help with anything, I can help. And by the way, you can call me Katherine Pierce, or whatever you want to call me."

After her introduction, Kat got to her feet, having finished her food, and left the diner. Like she’d told Regina, she didn’t usually share things with strangers, but she’d shared with Regina, because they were so much alike. Plus, she didn’t have a fear of any of her enemies coming to town. No one knew of this town, unless they were fairytales or herself.

Regina watched Katherine go after her introduction. She kind of felt sorry for her, having to go through all of that for a century or two, as well as having to watch her daughter die. With Regina’s past she had, she related with at least some of what Katherine had been through. And with everything that she’d told her, Regina knew that she was one person she could trust, when everyone else wouldn’t believe her with things. Like when her mother had framed her for a murder that hadn’t actually happened. She wondered why she hadn’t come here sooner than now. She knew Katherine was going to be like a friend to her, because no one else knew the extent of what it felt like.

It was a dismal night, as Hook stood by some trees, about to shoot Belle. Bell wasn't far from the townline. However, he got magically thrown against a tree. It was that newcomer he'd seen, but hadn't spoken to.

Kat stood between Rumple and Hook on the road.

"Enough," she told them both, a moment after Rumple brought out a fireball, ready to aim at Hook.

        She looked at Hook.

"I know what it feels like to lose someone you love, one way or another. You don't have to do this, Captain. If you hurt Belle, you're no better than his past self. Take it from me. Vengeance dies hard. I used to want vengeance too, but I let it go, knowing it would be wrong to kill the person that killed my entire village and family. I knew I'd be no better than him if I killed him. That, and I knew I would lose his brother if I killed him. I may not know what it's like to watch your true love die in front of you, but I know what it's like to find your family dead and to hear that someone killed someone you were in love with. I also know what it's like to watch your child die in front of you, because you decide to do as she wishes and not give anything up to save her. I was selfish for 500 plus years, but when it came to Nadia, if she asked me to do something, I would. She wanted me to be happy and not give anything up just to ask for the cure from Klaus, the person that killed nearly everyone I loved. This battle between you two needs to stop. Rumple found his true love. Now, it's your turn to stop this vengeance and find your own happiness."

Hearing the shortened version of her own story, he decided to put the gun away.

Rumple put the fireball away, once Hook put the gun away.

"Good. Now, go home," Kat said, happy that they'd both listened.

Hook headed to the docks to his ship, since that was his home, having been defeated by her words. He realized that, no matter what, this newcomer wasn't going to let him get his vengeance, so he did as she asked him to.

After the feud had ended and she saw Hook leave, she headed towards home, which was Charming's apartment she'd been staying at.

The next day, they all noticed that Regina was MIA, so Kat used a locator spell with her active Traveler magic, which led them to the docks. One of the newcomers Kat didn't trust tried to keep them from finding them, but it didn't pan out very well. Kat had been a master at lying for 500 years. She knew when someone was lying.

When they finally found Regina, she was tied to a table, an electric machine hooked up to her, the male stranger standing by it.

As soon as he saw them, the stranger turned the nob all the way, making electric bolts shoot through her even more. Then he ran, but Kat magically through him, making him land against a wall.

"You handle Greg. I'll track down Tamara," she told him. Then she turned the electric machine off and headed towards the direction Tamara had gone to.

When Katherine had gone after Tamara, Charming took care of Regina, as Katherine asked him to. Then, once she was safe and Greg put in jail for what he'd done, he went back to the place to find Katherine and Tamara. In case she needed any help, he was her backup. Plus, it was his job to see that Greg and Tamara were punished for what they'd done and tried to do.

Once Katherine had found Tamara, she and Tamara had a fight. Tamara tried using a magic bean to portal herself out of this world and into another after Katherine got hurt from them fighting over Tamara's gun, but Katherine, resilient as always, kept her from leaving. She was able to handcuff her to a post, before the portal that was open tried sucking her into it. Lucky for her though, before she got sucked into the portal, completely, Charming arrived on the scene.

He rushed over to where she was to help her, seeing her being sucked into a portal and seeing that she was hurt from a fight with Tamara, but Katherine knew that it wasn't going to work, and told him to just deal with Tamara.

Hook whom had left Greg and Tamara to torture Regina any way they well pleased, had come back to check on whether or not they were ready to help him in his vengeance, when he saw the scene. That's when he realized that Regina had been rescued, Greg had been probably taken away, and Tamara had tried to escape without luck and had hurt Katherine. Being who he was, he didn't like that last part. The prince was trying to get her out of the portal, but wasn't having any luck. Then he saw her get completely pulled into the portal. Although Hook had lost his love, for some reason, he didn't want the prince to, so he told him, "Go after her. I'll deal with this mess."

Although, Charming usually disagreed with him and argued with him, he knew there wasn't any time to waste if he wanted to save her. He knew the portal would be closing shortly, so Charming jumped into the portal without argument, trusting that Hook wouldn't do anything drastic while he wasn't around.

After being sucked into the portal and landing on forest floor, she stayed where she was, weak from her injury. She could only assume that she was in the Enchanted forest, where Charming and the others had come from that were in Storybrooke. The only question was when it was, and if she was going to survive.

As everything began to go black because of her injury, she saw Charming there, which she knew meant that Charming had gone after her, instead of staying behind. She figured Hook had probably told him that he'd take care of everything. If that was the case, hopefully, he wouldn't screw anything up in Storybrooke.

Charming fell to the forest floor and realized he was in the Enchanted forest. Being away from it for twenty-eight years didn't change the fact of knowing it nearly like the back of his hand.

He got to his feet and rushed over to where he saw Katherine on her back, and knelt at her side, which was when he saw the injury. There wasn't much he could do though, since he didn't have much knowledge with wounds. If Katherine wasn't so badly injured, she could heal herself, but she couldn't in this state. However, he knew a few people he could ask for help from. The matter was finding a horse and buggy close by where they were. There was no other way to travel with her in her state.

He rested a hand on the side of her face.

"Stay with me, Katherine. You're going to be okay. I'm right here," he assured her, before everything went black for her.

After finding a horse and buggy for their transportation, he began to head in the direction for some much needed help, hoping for her to live through this. In this land, it wasn't like he could just take her to a hospital. He needed either someone to heal her or someone with the knowledge of wounds more than he had.

After he'd convinced Rumple to help, Katherine was soon healed and they left. Then, after days of being there together in the Enchanted Forest, they finally found a way out and soon were back in Storybrooke.

After Kat was well and Tamara and Greg were taken care of, there was peace in Storybrooke, so Charming and Kat were able to have their time together without any interruptions. So, after everything they'd been through, Kat decided that she'd stay in town, and they stayed together. So, without further ado, they both got their happy ending.
